In a statement released Turkish Airlines has announced suspension of flight to 9 countries in Europe. This comes days after the US President Donald Trump has announced travel restrictions of flights to and from Europe. These countries include Germany,France,Spain,Norway,Denmark,Belgium,Sweden,Austria and Holland. It has said in a statement that “As the airline that always puts the travel security at the forefront, Turkish Airlines will continue to monitor the latest developments on the situation with the national and international health authorities and take appropriate precautions.We offer cancellation and route/date change options free of charge to our passengers with tickets for international flights“.

Turkish Airlines has seen a steady growth in terms of passengers carried with a 9.5% rise in 2018 after having carried 75.2 million passengers.

Flight cancellation due to Coronavirus

Turkish Airlines has already cancelled flying to China,Iran,Iraq,Italy,South Korea, Nakhchivan, Saudi Arabia, Mongolia and will operate two flights a day to Tel Aviv, Isreal adding to its recent cancellation to countries in Europe. Official Authority of Turkey had also released a statement which prevents the entry or transit of any passenger who has been to China, Korea, Iran, Iraq and Italy in the last 14 days.
