Qatar Airways Cargo provides cargo bridge between China and France. The airline will use its B777 freighter to operate between China and France during April and May. The airline is also using its passenger aircraft for cargo only flights.
The airline has also increased its capacity to carry more cargo to cities such as Shanghai, Guangzhou, Paris, Amsterdam, Muscat, Kuwait, Delhi, Beijing and Melbourne. The airline has been operating both passenger as well as cargo flights.
Air bridge between China and France
Qatar Airways Cargo is providing an bridge between China and France using its B777 freighter. These aircraft have a capacity of 100 tonnes. The first flight had commenced on April 8th.
The freighter originated from Guangzhou and Shanghai and headed to France. This acts as an air bridge between France and China.

The airline will transport essentials such as surgical masks, FFP2 masks, respiratory machines, bottles for hydroalcoholic gel, and disposable hospital gowns from manufacturers in China. This is being done in partnership with the French Embassy in Doha to support the French government and French Ministry of Health.
What is an Air-bridge ?
An air bridge is the route through which materials delivered from one place to another by air which is inaccessible by land is called an air bridge. Recently owing to the pandemic, airlines and aircraft have been establishing air bridges to ease transportation of essentials. KLM, Airbus are are examples of those who established air bridges to transport essentials.
Qatar Airways global increase in service
Qatar Airways is increasing its operations due to global demand of essentials and goods. The airline is increasing its global freight operation as well as freight only passenger flight operations owing to increasing demand.
In the past month, the airline had transported 50,000,000kg of medical supply.

Qatar Airways has been operating and increasing cargo operations on a global scale due to increasing demand for essential supplies. The cargo arm of the airline uses A330,B777 and a couple B747-8 freighter. The airline is also transporting cargo using its passenger aircraft.
The airline is now providing a cargo bridge between China, which is one of the world’s leading suppliers of essentials and France, which is one of Europe’s worst affected countries.
